A Musical New Years Eve wedding in Hereforshire – Nicholas & Jessica
Such a beautiful special wedding to share with you. Nicholas & Jessica married on New Years Eve, at the stunning Great Malvern Priory followed by a wonderful reception at one of my all time favourite venues, Lyde Court in Herefordshire. A massive thank you to the wonderful Becky Birch-Hayes for second shooting for me.
I adore New Years Eve weddings they are so exciting, and a little extra special, with everyone sharing the day and bringing in the new year together. It was such a honour to be apart of their day and celebration. Nicholas & Jessica have kindly share a few words about their day, so over to them.
Where did you meet?
We met nearly 9 years ago during our final term at Durham University.
The proposal.
Nick proposed 18 months ago, at a snowy waterfall during a surprise trip to Iceland.
How did you pick or decided on your venues?
I [Jess] sang as a chorister at Great Malvern Priory for many years when I was growing up and the church kindly welcomed us back to get married there. My mum and sister were a wonderful help and viewed all the reception venues with us. We all fell for Lyde Court as soon as we saw it. It was just the setting we had imagined for our black-tie candlelit New Year’s Eve wedding (and the lack of curfew was a bonus!).
Any advice for future couples wedding planning?
Take time to really enjoy each part of the planning process – it can be great fun and a totally novel experience.
Your suppliers, anyone you would like to big up and recommend?
One unexpected loveliness of planning a wedding is meeting and getting to know so many brilliant and talented creative suppliers. We’re hugely thankful to them all:
