Brinsop Court Wedding Photography – Sarah and Kyle
I am so delighted to share Sarah and Kyles amazing Brinsop Court wedding.
It was a amazing day full of so much emotion, Sarah and Kyle’s little family were so perfect. Their beautiful children shared the day with them and really made it so special.
I got married at Brinsop Court and it was so wonderful to be back, it felt like being at home. It was great as I knew all the secret spots and where the sun set. We had a 90 second golden hour! (I looked it up I knew it was quick) But I had prepped Sarah and Kyle that if the sun popped out we needed to dash out for it. I ran in and franticly waved at then during the evening reception and we run out and caught the most amazing light.
I had a tiny little Rex tucked away in my tummy on there day, he was still a secret to most people. I had my good friend and wonderful photographer Che along to help me. Thank you so much Che its always a pleasure to work with you.
Sarah and Kyle have very kindly written all about their big day for me, its a great read so grab a cuppa and scroll through.
Where did you meet?
Me and Kyle met at primary school we were in the same class from reception until year 2 where the classes all became mixed. We both went to different secondary schools but around year 11 we did begin to associate with each other again in a wider group. It wasn’t until 2008 where we became an item. We were already really good friends so it just felt right when we decided that we were more than friends.
The proposal
Kyle planned a surprise trip to Paris for my 21st birthday in December 2009. We had just found out that I was pregnant with our first child – Liam (he is now 9) at the time so it was a lovely way to celebrate. We went on a tour around Paris and stopped at the Eiffel Tower for a short while. It was pouring down with rain but Kyle took me by complete surprise and got down on one knee! It was so romantic – I was very emotional merged with being very hormonal! Just perfect! When we returned to Hereford on my birthday we had a very intimate engagement party with close family.
What was the most memorable part of your day
The most memorable part of the day had to be walking down the aisle and seeing Kyle! We slept separately the night before the wedding, I had all my bridesmaids with me in the French room of Brinsop and Kyle had the boys in Ivy cottage. I was so nervous before walking down the aisle. Our daughters Lyla and Lani were flowers girls they went down with my 4 bridesmaids first and then I followed with my dad. The emotions of the last 10 years all came to a head and the look on Kyle’s face as we saw each other for the first time was incredible. There was lots of tears it was an extremely emotional ceremony! The ceremony was held in the banqueting hall and we had fairy lights all up in the eaves to compliment the room alongside runners of green foliage… It really was a fairytale!
Wedding planning
We knew due to being pregnant with Liam that the engagement wasn’t going to be short. However it did turn out a lot longer than originally thought. In 2012 we welcomed along our daughter Lyla-Rose and then in 2015 Lani-Rai. The wedding seemed to be the last thing on our mind. In 2017 we went to a few wedding fayres and decided to start looking at suppliers and venues etc. We now felt the time was right to start wedding planning. We wanted the children to be a part of the day and along with celebrating our love for each other we also wanted it to be a celebration of our whole family.
How did you pick or decided on your venue?
We visited Brinsop in March 2017, we were instantly blown away by the beauty of the place. A hidden gem surrounded by a moat and views across stretches and stretches of countryside. It accommodates 35 of your wedding guests for the weekend and every room offered something unique. The wedding team were so very helpful Ellie, Harriet and Daisy especially, paying attention to every last request.
Any advice for future couples wedding planning
Do your Research and Invest in an amazing photographer. I googled and googled and revised many lists of photographers from fayres. Lucy’s style caught our eye straight away and after looking on her website she stood out from the others. Lucy was the style we were hoping for. Relaxed natural photos. She really captured the day for us and now it is all we have to look back on! We had both Lucy and Che on the day and it was great to be able to see both perspectives of the day from the bridal prep and the grooms. We are so so pleased with our photos! People are still commenting a year on how amazing the photos on!
I would also recommended marrying as early as possible if you are able to! Our ceremony was at 12 o clock and I still felt the time flew! You only get married once so make the most of the day and cherish every moment.
Your suppliers
Flowers – Issy and Bella – went above and beyond! Our wedding was on a very hot weekend, Jo didn’t want the flowers to wilter in the heat so came out very early on the morning of the ceremony to set up and also returned in between the ceremony and wedding breakfast to help rearrange the room and perfect the finishing touches. Her flowers are a dream!
Cake – Mrs Mo’s Delicio’s – always recommend Donna, her cakes are always so fantastically presented and taste god damn amazing! We had a naked wedding cake with white roses on the top. Everyone commented how wonderful it was!
Wed2b – My dress was £599 and then I had alterations by the amazing Stephanie Kyle who was so lovely and welcoming!
My lovely trestle table – We hired the dark rustic tables from this company I wanted these to compliment all the greenery runners and the colours of the banqueting hall – it was beautiful!
Rebel and Rock – Bec , Keri and Gemma came out to Brinsop about 6am on the wedding morning bursting with energy and immediately changed the atmosphere – I was feeling very nervous and they calmed the mood so much. In the lead up I had my trials and they listened to exactly what I wanted. I felt like such a princess on the day!
Lucy G Photography – Amazing photographer extremely passionate in what she does. Her bubbly personality shines through and it is a breath of fresh air on your wedding day to have her in your company. We both didn’t know what to expect with having so many photos taken but Lucy really did put us both at ease and was so creative in what she captured.
Golden Valley Catering – Kay and Mark played a massive part in our wedding weekend. They came to Brinsop on the wedding morning and served up breakfast rolls then returned to set out an amazing roast carvery for the wedding breakfast. The food was plentiful and tasted amazing. We had a buffet in the evening and then a full English breakfast the morning after the wedding! Kay and Mark were so friendly and I would definitely recommend checking them out for all your catering needs. Very reasonable priced and amazing quality!
