Redfern & Crawley United Workshop, The Place Hotel, Manchester.

Evening all, I have something a little different to share with you this evening. On Sunday I attended a shooting workshop by Redfern and Crawley United, aka Neil Redfern and Liam and Bee Crawley.

I was really excited about seeing how other photographers approach photographing the same scene. While at a recent wedding (Michelle and Peter’s) I was thinking I wonder how other photographers would shoot these conditions and scenery, then a few days later, I noticed a tweet about the next Redfern and Crawley United workshop. It was meant to be! I found it fascinating to watch not only Liam and Neil work but also all the other attendees. While everyone else was snapping away I really enjoyed just standing back and watching, seeing how different people view the same image.

The day was divided up so we had plenty of time working with both Liam and Neil and our fabulous models, Laura and Pete Lawson (aka The incredibly talented photographers The Lawsons) and the beautiful Julia. We ended the day with the editing wonder woman Bee Crawley showing us all how she edits their images, and spoiling us with an incredible cake!

It was such an honour to be surrounded by amazingly talented photographers, not only Neil and Liam but all of the other attendees and our wonderful models the Lawsons! I had a brilliant inspiring day and I can’t wait to put in to practice what I have learnt.
