My First Year of University

So in October 2008 I moved into Halls of residence in a Nottingham, the whole year was on big learning curve. I was thrown into a crazy environment, living with people from all over the country, who had never lived away from home before and couldn’t cook or use a washing machine.  Apart from the partying, and teaching people how to use a washing machine, I also had to do some work! A photography degree isn’t about taking pretty pictures (unfortunately),we had to do some hardcore boring theory. We had to read a lot  and we couldn’t just take a photograph there had to be a big reason and theory behind it.

This is a project I competed in my last term, I documented what went on in our student Halls living room, how we had slipped back into family type life, even though we were living away from our family home. Some of the people in the film didn’t live in our house, they lived a few doors down, they pretty much came over everyday we all came together to eat our dinner over a daily does of Neighbours and Home and Away.
